A Collaboration of Art and Technology
The cue originates in Gunma Prefecture, home to Miki Co., Ltd. Kazunori Miki, founder of Exceed, collaborated with Kirikane master Maya Matsuhisa to create the ultimate fusion of traditional art and cutting-edge cue design. Miki envisioned a cue that complements the intricate beauty of Kirikane, while Matsuhisa translated this vision into a functional, playable masterpiece. Their combined expertise delivers a cue that balances performance and artistry.
Kirikane: Ancient Japanese Gold and Platinum Art
Kirikane involves layering gold and platinum leaf, baking it into sheets, and cutting intricate patterns by hand. This centuries-old art demands precision, patience, and mastery. The “Miyabi” design demonstrates exceptional skill, as each cue features unique patterns with no templates. The result is a stunning, one-of-a-kind cue that celebrates Japan’s artistic heritage.
Nishijin-ori Carbon Butt Cap and Joint Collar
The cue incorporates carbon fiber woven in the traditional Nishijin-ori style, “Chuyashamon” pattern, dating back to 794. Both the butt cap and joint collar reflect imperial craftsmanship while providing durability and modern performance.
Joint Protector and X-Bolt Weight Cartridge
Each “Miyabi” cue includes a three-color almite-coated aluminum joint protector embossed with the elegant logo.
